School Closure due to Coronavirus

FOR IEMPIRE, NEW VISION MIDDLE, AND ENTREPRENEUR HIGH SCHOOL FAMILIES

Earlier this afternoon, the San Bernardino City Unified School District, in consultation with the San Bernardino Department of Public Health, made the decision to cancel classes next week due to the Coronavirus outbreak. REAL Journey Academies (RJA) will follow this lead and close our schools next week (beginning Monday, 3/16) We hope that next week’s closure, combined with the two weeks of spring break after that, will greatly reduce the risk of any RJA students, employees, and families from contracting and/or spreading the virus. Please know that to date, no student or staff has tested positive for COVID-19.

At this time, we ask parents to make arrangements for their student(s) for March 16 - March 20, 2020 as all RJA schools will be closed, classes will be canceled and any student-related activities will also be canceled.  Also, please remember that Spring Break runs from March 21 – April 5.

We understand there are many concerns around COVID-19 and want to ensure families that we are working closely with county/state departments of health for updates and guidance. For the latest information on this closure and general COVID-19 information, families are encouraged to visit our RJA COVID-19 website at www.realjourney.org/covid. And please send any questions that arise to info@realjourney.org (subject line COVID) or call 1-888-342-4723.

Schoolwork during closure

All students should pick up work packets at their school on Tuesday, March 17. A packet “drive-through” service will be available between 7:30am – 9:30am. After that time, packets will be available for pick up at the school office. Please keep a close eye on our website for updates on all topics related to this closure.
